Dr Leanne Atkin PhD MHSc RGN is a Lecturer Practitioner at University of Huddersfield additionally being Vascular Nurse Consultant at Mid Yorks NHS Trust. She completed her Masters degree in Advanced Nursing Practice 2010 and her PhD in 2017, her research focus was the treatment and management of peripheral arterial disease.
Her passions include leg ulcer management, quality agenda, peripheral arterial disease and advanced wound management. She has published over 80 articles related to lower limb ulceration, vascular diseases, wound assessment, and quality of life.
Additionally, she is an active researcher running several studies as Chief and Principal investigator and is actively involved in the ‘Legs Matter’ campaign aiming to raise patient and public awareness of lower limb conditions.
Dr Ally-Khan Somani

Ally-Khan Somani, BSc, MD, Ph.D., FACMS, FAAD, FASDS, FEADV is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs-Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Director of Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology in the Department of Dermatology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. His practice is focused on treating skin cancers using micrographic surgery followed by reconstructive surgery. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters.

Dr. Jeffrey Niezgoda has dedicated his professional life to optimizing outcomes and promoting excellence in the care of patients with compromised wound healing. For over 30 years he has provided direct patient care and supervision of multiple medical facilities focused on wound and hyperbaric services. He is the President of the American Professional Wound Care Association and Past President of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine. He is the Founder and President Emeritus of AZH Wound & Hyperbaric Center MKE. Advancing the Zenith of Healthcare is a novel company established by Dr. Niezgoda in 2017, dedicated to excellence in wound, hyperbaric, vascular and regenerative clinical services.
Dr Angelos Karatzias
Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon
Dr. Angelos Karatzias is a Board-Certified Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon. He studied medicine in Greece / University of Thrace and proceeded to obtain a Master of Science (MSc) in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair from the University of Cardiff.
He is a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (FEBOPRAS), member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Medical Director of Mobile Wound Healing Unit. He also currently serves as the President of Cyprus Wound Management Society (CWMS) and the Representative of Cyprus in the International Working Group of Diabetic Foot (IWGDF).
