Mr Baljit Dheansa is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the world famous Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. He qualified from King’s College Hospital and completed his general surgical training in the south east before specialising in plastic surgery and burns. He has been a consultant for 17 years and has over 25 years of experience in the field. HIs main sub-specialties are burns, burns reconstruction and scar management. He has an interest in research and sits on the Scar Free Foundation Research Council as well as being a member of the British Burns Association Research Group. He is currently involved in research evaluating new dermal replacements while also using a variety in his clinical practice.
Dr. Paul Glat
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Dr. Glat is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon from the Philadelphia area. Dr. Glat attended medical school at New York University (NYU) where he also completed residency training in General and Plastic Surgery. He then moved to Philadelphia for a fellowship in Craniofacial surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Glat then joined the faculty at Drexel University College of Medicine where he is a Professor of Surgery. He is also the Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Christopher’s Hospital where he is the Director of the Burn Unit.
Dr. Glat is very active in clinical research with a special interest in Burns and Wound Care. He has published extensively on these topics and written several chapters on Wound healing and Wound care.
Dr. Robert Kirsner

Dr. Kirsner is Chairman and the endowed Harvey Blank Professor in the Dr. Phillip Frost Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is Chief of Dermatology at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics and Jackson Memorial Hospital and directs the University of Miami Hospital Wound Center. Dr. Kirsner serves on the editorial boards for a number of journals in dermatology and wound healing and serves in national leadership positions in both Wound Healing and Dermatology, including currently serving on the American Academy of Dermatology Board of Directors and the Wound Healing Society Board of Directors. In addition to career development awards, foundation, industry sponsored funding and CDC funding, he currently leads or is part of a number of NIH funded grants. Independent of books, book chapters and abstracts, he has published over 550 articles.
Steven Jeffery

Steven Jeffery is a Consultant Burns and Plastic Surgeon. His interests are all aspects of burns, wounds and scarring. He has over 35 years of experience as a surgeon in the British Army including numerous overseas deployments. He is Professor of Wound Healing at Birmingham City University and visiting Professor at Cardiff University.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Wound Healing Society, the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and is now the immediate Past-President. He has also been President of the American Professional Wound Care Association and currently serves as Vice-President of the International Surgical Wound Complications Advisory Panel.
